Simply the bestMay 07, 2010 I have been loyally making only this variety of brownie for several years but can no longer get the mix from local grocery stores, so I buy it here in bulk. I always get compliments - I bring them to practically every function - and nobody can ever guess that they're low-fat. The only down side is that it's easy to eat more because they're so delicious and you tend to justify that they're better for you!

Scrumptious low-fat brownies (make them with beans!)Apr 05, 2010 I've been buying this brand of brownies for 2 years and I've received nothing but compliments when I take them for pitch-in dinners with friends or at the office.
But you know what? I don't make these according to the directions on the box - when my brother was deciding whether or not to have weight loss surgery, I was looking for recipes for him on some local hospital web sites.
I came across this recipe for diet brownies - it didn't specify the Betty Crocker brand, but it did say look for a low-fat brownie mix - and this is the only one I can find other than No Pudge at the grocery store...incidentally, these are better than the No Pudge Brownies.
Try making these this way instead of according to the package.
1 package of Betty Crocker Low Fat Fudge Brownie Mix
1 - 15 to 16 oz. can of black beans (I've also used great northern beans & they turn out just as good)
1 tablespoon water
Puree the beans (with their juice) in a blender or food processor. Puree them thoroughly, so they don't look like beans!
Combine all ingredients, stir and bake according to the directions on the box.
These are healthier as they are full of fiber from the beans. Don't tell anyone the brownies have beans in them or you won't get people to try them...but you will certainly get the compliments from these moist, tasty brownies.

browniesJun 05, 2009 No dissapointments here. It is low fat but tasty. I have been making individual portions so far with the first box and then serving it warm from the microwave with ice cream. A delicious treat and a controlled size.It arrived in excellent condition and we will enjoy this product for the next several months, perfect for a picnic treat also.

You really can't tell that it is "low fat"Apr 13, 2008 This low fat Fudge Brownie mix is truly tasty and delicious! I use this mix for snack purposes. Here's a little treat:
I dump the product into a Tupperware container and flatten the box for safekeeping in case I need to refer to it for instructions or nutritional info.
I place 4 heaping tablespoons of mix in a small microwave bowl. (A Pyrex bowl seems to work better for this, as there is less sticking.) Then I add 4 heaping spoonfuls of water. (With this snack method, you don't need butter or oil.) Batter will be a bit runny, but mix well until all batter lumps have dissolved. Microwave on high for approximately 1 minute. Microwaves vary so you'll have to rely on trial and error to make the right time choices. Anyhow, the finished product is yummy with a few scoops of fat free frozen yogurt, some spoonfuls of cherry pie filling (or cherry preserves in a pinch,) topped off with a bit of chocolate syrup. The combination of these ingredients make a highly 'naughty' tasting lowfat treat. Enjoy!
